Police Behaviour

by antlady69 @ 2008-04-09 - 06:05:52

In this recent BBC article, a BBC reporter was mistaken for a terrorist and restrained by police.

Must be a horrible situation for an upright, perfectly innocent member of the public who only wants to do his job. I have no idea how I would feel in such a situation.

BUT: imagine it HAD been a terrorist wearing a bomb, and the police had NOT reacted.

There is no way that the police have enough time in this type of situation to gather intelligence (i.e. background info) on the person in question, as the reporter requested.

Although this greatly inconveniences innocent people (at the moment Arab looking), I personally still prefer the police react quickly and restrain an innocent person, than react too late (or not at all) and let a terrorist blow up other innocent people.

What's your take on this?

George Bush and the US - War Criminals or World Saints?

by freedomisnotfree @ 2008-03-18 - 14:05:24

George Bush - claims he asked God whether he should go to war and God said yes. Does that mean he started a Jihad against Iraq and Afghanistan?! He is a War criminal. The UN have said it is an illegal war but who dare argue with America? If he was a saint would he not intervene in Tibet or Burma. Oh Wait, as my friend reminded me, no oil! Iraq? MAJOR OIL! All they care about is protecting oil and showing the world that they are in control!

Did Jesus really exist? Was He what they say He was? Do You really believe EVERYTHING that is written about him? Was He just another prophet? Or was he just a figment of the imagination?
